H Carbon Tierra Biennale στην Πτολεμαΐδα, στοχεύει στη δημιουργία μιας δυναμικής σχέσης μεταξύ της ιστορικής-εξορυκτικής κληρονομιάς του τόπου και της πειραματικής, σύγχρονης τέχνης και καλλιτεχνικής πρακτικής. Εστιάζει στις καταχρηστικές πρακτικές και πολιτικές που ακολουθήθηκαν και ακολουθούνται, και στον τρόπο που αυτές διαμορφώνουν και καθορίζουν τη σχέση μας με το αστικό τοπίο και το φυσικό περιβάλλον. H Carbon Tierra Biennale εφαρμόζοντας μια εκτεταμένη αναδρομική, δημιουργική και συμμετοχική έρευνα στις πρακτικές εξόρυξης και τον αντίκτυπό τους, ενδυναμώνει τη συλλογική μας ταυτότητα και την άυλη πολιτιστική μας κληρονομιά που είναι σε μεγάλο βαθμό ανεξερεύνητη. Επιπλέον, επιδιώκει τη διασύνδεση με άλλες εξορυκτικές κοινότητες και του περιβάλλοντός τους, προωθώντας ένα διεθνές δίκτυο ανταλλαγής πολιτιστικών δράσεων και διαλόγου.
The objective of Carbon Tierra Biennale at city of Ptolemaida – Greece, is to establish an interactive and dynamic connection between the historical-mining heritage of the site and the innovative, contemporary art and artistic practices. It focuses on the abusive practices and polices that have been followed and allowed, and on how they shape and define our relationship with the urban landscape and the natural environment. Carbon Tierra Biennale, by applying extensive retrospective, creative and participatory research into mining practices and their impact, strengthens our collective identity and our intangible cultural heritage that is largely unexplored. Furthermore, it aims to establish connections with other mining towns and their environments by fostering a global network of cultural interchange and dialogue.
